EXPANDING BRASS CASES "UNPLUGGED"
When you reload Rifle Brass Cases using H&N copper plated bullets or any kind of LEAD bullets you should expand the case head preventing lead or copper being scraped off while seating the bullet because this would cause the bullet to be damaged decreasing precision of your reloaded ammo. There for you can use available Expander Dies from RCBS - REDDING - LEE - LYMAN - FORSTER - HORNADY - L.E.-WILSON - 4D which do a great job but also will cost you a lot of money. If you reload many different calibers at a certain point you have to find a way to cut down expenses. All you need is a FMJ Bullet and a Hammer.
1.)
Prepare your cases
(cleaning, trimming, deburring, resizing & depriming, priming)
2.)
Place your prepared brass cases into a reloading tray
3.)
Take the FMJ bullet and place it into the case with the spire point towards the brass case
4.)
Take the hammer and use one or two LIGHT blows to widen the case head
5.)
Now you can place the real bullet inside the expanded case head and seat the bullet with the seating die AFTER YOU FILLED THE POWDER!
Be sure the seating die will fix the bullet with an VERY LIGHT CRIMP!
